Tokyo Travelogue: Day 4 Tokyo Disneyland

My brother was not amused by the Japanese dedication to Disney lol

Ahhhh welcome to the wonderful world of Disney everyone! It's actually all of our first time here in Tokyo Disneyland and the bff and I were so eggcited :D

So in true blue Singaporean fashion, we were camping outside the gates of Disneyland before opening hours after dropping our luggage at the partner hotel (review) and the crowd was really no joke. All the talk online about how the queues snake till dunno where even before the parks open were all true D:

Disney staff will be holding signs to advise you to walk instead of running in to the parks because I've read online reviews of how people actually run in to an attraction to gain a FastPass.

No. 1 attraction in Disneyland and it was closed for maintenance T________T #reasontogobacktoTDL

We visited during their Easter festival so the park was decorated with the Disney characters in egg form - super cute! I've heard that Halloween in Disneyland is also very cool so I really want to visit again during that period.

Anyway we started going in towards Tomorrowland because the original plan was to queue for the Monsters Inc ride but it was closed. Nevertheless, the Star Wars ride was open so we queued for that attraction first.

What is going to Disneyland without collecting the souvenir medallion #takeallmymoney

Mum is a huge Disney fan too!

We only took one FastPass ticket because most of the queues were still manageable in that period (end of May) and also because it was a weekday too.

Must take a FastPass or you'll have to join this queue lol. The FP queue was wayyyyyyy shorter than this and we managed to get on the ride within 15 mins.

Lunch was at a diner selling hotdogs because the mother is a fairly picky eater so this was pretty much the only thing she could stomach around the World Bazaar area.

I don't know why there are ducks inside the park haha

We managed to secure a nice spot for the parade in the afternoon although the weather was a killer! And the floats are so different from HKDL with more characters which made me really happy HAHA!

To be honest this is the first time I've ever seen Jasmine and Aladdin in a Disneyland park. The only other Disneyland park I've been to is the Hong Kong one and they are not available there. The Paris one doesn't count because I was too young to even remember anything lol.

You have to admire the Japanese for their dedication... When you spot long lines inside a Disney park, that means there is a character greeting happening!

Hi Mickey!

Hi Mickey!

Love how the characters actually stop to pose for cameras.

Piglet! We didn't queue for any character greeting because the queues were scary and I think my brother would have totally killed me if we wasted time queuing for such things lol.

Another Disney specialty are their popcorn flavours! I like how the park maps indicate what flavours are being sold at which area and how cute are their popcorn buckets?! They all have their own unique themes and designs for each land.

Clearly the bff went crazy and she actually bought the alien popcorn bucket and the mochi container too! I contemplated very long on whether I wanted to buy the popcorn bucket but ended up bringing home the mochi container only because my luggage was running out of space D:

Alien ambassador. By the way her tshirt is from Uniqlo and this was bought in Japan a day or two before we went to Disneyland after I pointed it out to her in the store at Shibuya LOL

Yup we both got suckered into getting this souvenir as well #nowyouknowwhywearebffs

Super sad that this was closed SIGH.

This is inside Toontown

Anyway we managed to last through the day despite waking up at 5am that morning, accompanying my mum and bro back to the hotel for the check-in and rushing back to the park to cover more areas while the other two rested at the hotel. We met up for dinner later on at Ikspiari after the park closed and then headed back to Hilton Tokyo Bay for the night.

I think one full day is really required to cover Tokyo Disneyland, especially if you're a Disney fanatic like me! The day and night views of the park is really lovely so I'm hoping I'll be able to go back soon :)
