Tokyo Travelogue: Day 6 Ginza and Tokyo Station
After bidding the Tokyo Disney Resort goodbye, we checked out of Hilton Tokyo Bay and made our way to Ginza where our third and final hotel for the trip was located - Mercure Tokyo Ginza. The hotel is located directly above Ginza-Itchome station on the Yurakucho Line so that was how we got to our hotel from Maihama.

We checked in and then left to explore around the Ginza area. So we realised that Ginza was pretty upscale and a business district to boot but it still has a shopping strip available including these...
Large GU store which is a sister brand of Uniqlo

I loved the vibe of Ginza to be honest. In the day it was filled with office workers and it wasn't overly crowded. At night it turns into a quiet area and Tokyo Station is actually within walking distance from here (about 15-20 mins).
We took some time to shop around at GU and Uniqlo, even walking to find my kumano fude brushes over at TAU (a Hiroshima specialty store) where I left with new Koyudo and Chikuhodo brushes :D
After that we decided to find some food cos we were super hungry by then and Googled for some authentic food in the Ginza area before deciding on Ginza Bairin, a tonkatsu store just a few metres up ahead from the 12 storey Uniqlo store.
Ginza Bairin's signature dish is this katsu don! It was super yummy and cheap too.
And then we continued to shop :D
Jill Stuart counter found in one of the departmental stores. I believe the departmental store just a stone's throw away from Mercure Tokyo Ginza has most of the high-end makeup brands including Jill Stuart. I actually picked up some items from Tom Ford there too because they had been sold out in the Singapore counter (TF in SG why you all always so lousy one...... SIGH.)
Pola eyeshadow from their flagship store. My mother went in to pick up some skincare items while I managed to leave with a brand new eyeshadow quad!
Later on in the day we decided to head towards Tokyo Station by foot, taking us around 15-20 mins to walk from our hotel. Ended up at Daimaru right above Tokyo Station because I wanted to check out their food counters at the basement!

And after that we went right down to Character Street inside the station itself but all the stores were half closed so we kept running up and down trying to buy as much things as we could LOL!
Rapunzel poster from the Disney store. Anyway, that's all for this entry on Ginza. We pretty much enjoyed this part of Tokyo although the more happening part would be at the Shinjuku/Shibuya side. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a nice quiet place to stay in Tokyo you can definitely consider Ginza as well for its close proximity to Tokyo Station.
